{"id":3276,"date":"2021-05-24T15:49:22","date_gmt":"2021-05-24T15:49:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/experienceabroad.com\/?p=3276"},"modified":"2021-05-24T17:40:32","modified_gmt":"2021-05-24T17:40:32","slug":"evp-moratorium-for-ph-participants-has-been-lifted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/experienceabroad.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/24\/evp-moratorium-for-ph-participants-has-been-lifted\/","title":{"rendered":"EVP Moratorium for PH participants has been lifted"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"3276\" class=\"elementor elementor-3276\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-38170e84 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"38170e84\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-1fe7089c\" data-id=\"1fe7089c\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-350904a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"350904a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Exchange Visitor Program Committee of the Philippines has finally lifted the EVP Moratorium on the participation of Filipino Nationals in the Exchange Visitor Program of the United States of America effective May 25, 2021.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The lifting of EVP Moratorium was announced on May 24, 2021 via the Commission on Filipinos Overseas website <a href=\"https:\/\/cfo.gov.ph\/\">https:\/\/cfo.gov.ph\/<\/a>.<\/p><p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cfo.gov.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/viber_image_2021-05-24_15-01-00-768x771.jpg\" alt=\"Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Announcement\" width=\"600\" height=\"771\" \/><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The suspension was ended by virtue of the Exchange Visitors Program Resolution no. 01-2021 adopted on April 6, 2021 as a result of the series of consultation and technical working group meetings of the 11 member Inter-agency committee.<\/p><h3>EVP Moratorium in 2020<\/h3><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It can be recalled that in May 2020, the EVP committee thru the Commission on Filipinos Overseas has imposed a suspension restraining J1 candidates from leaving the country for the Exchange Visitor Program since there was a need to strengthen the safety measures for Filipino Nationals before, during and after their Travel to the US.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This became a perfect opportunity to review and reflect on the benefits of the program to the Philippines, and whether it has contributed to the growth and development of the country.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );
